Simpson's House Cutaway First Floor by ajdelong Simpson's House Cutaway First Floor by ajdelong
I have been waiting over a decade for someone to do a proper drawing of the layout of the Simpson's house. Unfortunately, no one ever did. So I decided I would instead.

The entrance to the basement is supposed to be on the left of the foyer, next to the purple grandfather clock.

I am really impressed with the attention to detail, and especially the accurate colours!

I considered putting the entrance to the basement in the center of the house as it is sometimes shown to be there in the show. However, putting it there means that they would have to walk through a closet, which is shown to be through that door frequently too, and then either go around a corner so the stairs to the basement go down under the stairs to the second floor or, as is the case generally in the show when this particular door is shown to lead to the basement, to go straight which would mean the stairs and kitchen would occupy the same space. Instead, I chose to put the stairs in the hallway leading off the kitchen which is also shown to be the location fairly frequently, and also allows the basement to sit right under the house, instead of jutting out under the lawn as would be the case if the stairs were in the center of the house.

It's very helpful if someone what to know how the Simpson's house look like inside. Nice job.

Wow, great job. I never could figure out what was in that rear right corner behind the garage. Also, nice going on the placement of that bathroom, it makes perfect sense.

Oh wow, the first appearance of the Rumpus Room is in season 17 episode 2. Homer also mentions watching the graveyard from the bathroom, which could mean the second floor bathroom next to the master bedroom, or the small bathroom next to the rumpus room.

As I've stated below, I kind of felt there should be a bathroom next to the Rumpus Room, but really the only evidence I have for this is from season 8 episode 20 where Bart gets the dog Laddie. Usually placing something in the house based off a joke isn't a good idea, but I feel there should be at least one bathroom on the main floor, and that's really the only place I see it fitting.

Awesome job. What's the room with the fish and tile?

I figured there had to be more than one bathroom based on the differing looks the bathroom has had throughout the years. Plus there was that one episode with the dog Laddie, where she went to the bathroom and walked into the kitchen from that hallways as you hear a toilet flush. So, for that reason and had I not put a bathroom there the rumpus room would have been way too long and skinny.

Thanks, that's pretty cool. I doubt I'll do the basement just because it's really only a single room with a washer and dryer and some junk. But I have already done the second floor if you look on my page. Thanks again for your comments.

DO you think you will do a basement and or 2nd floor

I've done a second floor, but I probably won't do a basement as it is shown infrequently and is really just a single concrete room that I don't think would be visually interesting, except for the giant head thing in the corner.

The rumpus room. Even so, I don't remember so much this room.

Yeah it's only ever been in a couple of episodes. There are a few rooms like that in the Simpson's house that you just don't see that much, which makes creating a floorplan of the house somewhat difficult.

I've been searching all day for an accurate layout because I want to make a dollhouse for the Simpsons figurine I have and I want it to be identical (or as much as I possibly can make it). Do you mind if I use this picture as my model?

Very good job by the way! :D

Yes, by all means use it as a model. I would also be very interested in seeing the final result. Good luck.

Wow, this is really cool and really detailed! It's interesting to see it all laid out like that. I don't really remember the second TV room with the beanbag chair, but obviously I haven't seen every episode, lol. Are you going to be doing the second floor?
